It has also become, together with glitter, a recurrent actor of a visual and sound subculture. — When crushed, floral foam can trigger specific sensory responses. The aggregation of images and sounds of this being performed to the camera is a genre of A.S.M.R. that is visually and acoustically “satisfying”. — As the floral foam breaks down into bits and dust, for each brick, billions of useless permanent plastic particles are released into the atmosphere and hydrosphere. — Far from creating a mood of dread, the explicit visions of plastic pollution in the making create a mood of peaceful satisfaction. An almost hypnotic state shared through the immense audience of visual content platforms. — Why we feel that way may never be answered...
